Welcome to Mandolin Creek Foundry
Mandolin Creek Foundry provides bespoke metal casting services for members of Mandolin Creek Village. We can produce cast aluminum parts utilizing sand molds, lost wax, and other innovative techniques.
Our Capacities
Our foundry can produce a very limited number of castings, due to limits in our current tools and other resources.
Mandolin Creek Foundry
Our furnace can melt up to 1.5L of most aluminum alloys. This allows our foundry to produce small parts that required a modest amount of metal. Our workshop contains the tools for producing molds capable of reproducing any pattern that can be cast in sand or plaster. Our Village partners assist our foundry for aspects of projects that extend beyond metal casting.
Mandolin Creek Village
Mandolin Creek Foundry works closely with other Mandolin Creek Village units:
- Mandolin Creek Farm provides space inside and around its main shop.
- Mandolin Creek Lodge provides a luxurious place to stay while visiting the Farm or Village. Makers can stay together at the Lodge and utilize our foundry for an extended period of time.
- Mandolin Creek Systems can create foundry automation software
- Mandolin Creek Makerspace can create new casting patterns using CAD software and CNC machines
- Mandolin Creek Machines can create foundry automation systems that use diesel and hydraulic systems
